This documentary tells the story of an extraordinary man, Juan Pujol Garcia, whose true story seems unbelievable. Pujol was born in Barcelona, Spain, but became a double agent during World War II. At the onset of the war, he offered his services to the British, but being turned down innumerable times, he finally began working as a spy for the Allies after they discovered that he was giving false information, as a spy, to the Nazis.
Pujol was so successful in his deception (towards the Nazis), that the Nazis gave him the code name of "Alaric" and became the only non-German to receive the Iron Cross, one of the most prestigious awards in Hitler's regime. As Alaric, he was the most trusted and valued secret agent that the Nazis had during WWII.
Pujol is also the man who aided the Allies with his counter-espionage work, saving thousands of lives, and was given the code name of "Garbo." Fascinating? Indeed! The story of this man appears to be a Hollywood fiction tale and Pujol one of the world's greatest actors! However, it is not fiction, but a true story of a man of fortitude. This film by Edmon Roch will keep you intrigued throughout.
