This is a different and strange animated film, but also funny. Directed by Belgian animators, Stephane Aubier and Vincent Patar, A Town Called Panic features some very unlikely, unusual and funny characters that appear to be made of plastic. Horse, Cowboy and Indian live together and it is Horse’s birthday. Since Cowboy and Indian forgot to buy him a present, they decide to build him a barbecue pit, something he has always wanted. They need bricks to build the barbecue, and when they order them online, they accidentally order 50 million bricks rather than the 50 they needed. When the bricks are delivered, the havoc begins. Their home is destroyed and must be rebuilt. Other homes are destroyed and ultimately strange characters appear throughout the film. All the while, Horse is trying to get to the school to visit the class of the music teacher, Madame Longree (also a horse), with whom he is in love. Not the easiest of films to describe, I must admit that the title describes the situation perfectly – endless “panic.”
