Much Ado About Nothing

William Shakespeare’s classic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, playing at A Noise Within in Glendale, is fun-filled with a cast of actors who do justice to their roles and bring life to the play.  It is a comedic love story about two people who have to be tricked into realizing their love for one another.  Benedick (an amusing JD Cullum) is an avowed bachelor until he overhears his friends talking about the fact that Beatrice (delightful Torri Higginson) is in love with him.  And ironically, strong-willed Beatrice overhears her friends discussing the fact that Benedick is in love with her.  What a witty and wily way to get two people to realize that they are in love with one another!

The other plot involves the young Hero (Lindsay Gould) who becomes engaged to Claudio (Brandon Hearnsberger), but her marriage is foiled by Don John (Stephen Rockwell) who spreads a false rumor accusing Hero of infidelity.  But all’s well that ends well when the town policeman Dogberry (the very comical Mark Bramhall) and Verges (funny Mitchell Edmonds) prove the rumor to be a sham.

Much Ado About Nothing is directed by Michael W. Murray with choreography by Julia Rodriguez-Elliott.  It is playing in repertory with Clifford Odets’ Awake and Sing through May 21, at A Noise Within located at 234 So. Brand Blvd. in Glendale.  For further information on dates and times of both plays, call (818) 240-0910, ext. 1, or go online at www.ANoiseWithin.org.
